Hemet is a part of the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, which provides a "Be Water Wise" site with tips on conserving water and information on rebates, and a water calculator for gardening and landscaping.

The Lake Hemet Municipal Water District is encouraging residents to conserve water and is planning for a 10 percent reduction in use.
